wtf? everytime i unistall sins it's still screwed up and tells me it's still there.

yeah, i uninstall it to get a fresh copy of it from impulse and everytime i do that the game tells me that i still have achomplishments done????

is this another stupid damn microsoft functionality thing where it stores some o f itself some place that also is hidden like the damn effing 'local' file under our name under the damn 'document&setting' stupid shit! and yes i'm damn pissed... Ironclad should have told microsoft to go FUCK OFF with this damn hidden file crap!!!!!

can anyone tell me how to unhide the effing damn 'local' file in documents& setting/me/ hidden bull shit so that i can personally check to make damn sure that if i tell the effing game and product to UNINSTALL itself that it actually does all of that and that it doesn't leave something behind just in casae i want to do something in the god damn future!!! ya know if we want to uninstall something and then install it again oh fucking well we have to start over from scratch. it's called starting over!!!

and yes, i DO NOT agree with lots of damn things that the fools at microsoft thinks we all damn well want but we don't need !

DO I actually need impulse to download updates to sins? i do have an original disc of the game... can't i download updates of the game from the sins site?

sorry if i got a little miffed in this posting, but i get quite irritated when someone thinks they should change something that does work very well to something that doesn't.

oh and yeah, i'd love to see the person who wants to make a change to sins so that the mods folder can go where it should be.,.... namely in the damn programs files folder like most every other game does. oh and for the peeps in here that wanna tell me that putting games in the programs files folder is 'old skool' geta damn clue.. Hearts of Iron just came out in august and it goes there and it's box says it's gaming for windows crap too!!

have a nice day :D

It's set to "do not show hidden files and folders" at default. To change this (you'll need admin rights), open explorer >organize>view>click on "show hidden files and folders" and apply.

ok, this is not kewl.. so everytime i uninstall impulse before i even install sins, i now see that sins is installed on my computer under the local file but everything else says sins isn't installed and when i go to remove or delete the offending sins file it tells me that the file can not be deleted.... that means it's a virus in impulse huh?

this has nothing to do with a virus ;)

(it is btw the reason i have been trying to explain several other people for YEARS why you cannot simply copy a game´s folder onto an external HD, then format your built-in HD when you´re experiencing some windows prob and simply paste back your game folder afterwards when you installed a new windows) :

virtually any (or, at least, most) software you install will not only install itself into the appropriate folder, but also into various registry entries hidden deep within the windows system folders ;)

and, sadly, if you choose to uninstall it, it is very much likely that these entries do not get deleted completely.

so, if you REALLY wanna get rid of a software completely (including save games, windows registry entries, registration keys, the folder itself and the like), you may use some tool like regcleaner which makes the software get whiped out from your HD and not only "uninstalled". :)

and finally:

/irony on

well well .. have a bit more trust in "our" MS guys - they simply want us not to have to worry about such complex things as these ..

/irony off

have a nice day

User folders are intentionally left behind on uninstall by may programs to prevent unintended data loss. Saves and such cannot be stored in program files as that would not work under non-administrator user accounts.

If you want to remove them manually after uninstall, it's as simple as deleting the Ironclad Games folder from (your user folder)/AppData/Local, or the equivalent location under XP.

I'd strongly advise against resorting to third-party uninstall utilities as commented above--they can cause severe damage to your OS install in some cases.

why uninstall if u can click the sins folder in ur HD and click DELETE it?
