120 seconds for 30 seconds? Really

So I love the new pact stuff and alot of the new abilities but Im not happy about passive Diplomatic imunity being taken away. It woudnt be so bad if the cooldown wernt so damn brutal but 30 sec is nothing and 120 seconds is an eternity when the planet that refuses to give you a ceasefire is the one your trying to make freindly...Im sure is works on small games ok since you can get to planets you want to ally with before they are well defended, but in large games by the time you find a potential ally their deffenses wipe the floor with you before you can get anywhere with the diplomacy scale...

The devs said that the envoy ship is not meant to start relations, it's to continue them. You have to get a ceasefire first or the ship isn't worth much. In that sense, the cooldown is fine. And that's probably what they're aiming for, instead of a completely neutral ship that can force alliances.

Problem there is that Unless they are the same race and have a bigger military than you, theres no way to start relations (I hate playing with more than one of the same race if I can help it. The Highest Ive been able to get is 30% and they wont accept a ceasfire

Cease fires should be a bit easier to get now, and soon killing the enemies of other players will make them like you more.

Not to drag the point on and on, but the first implementation was very very cool, you could start out as a diplomatic player, fortify your home planet and gradually build out, without worrying that the other ai had too many already. You could start relations right off the bat, it was wonderful!!  Someone said they didnt want relations to be forced, but until now we never could, ai were always saying no, at least most of the time.

If the Devs could give us a choice, either start with diplomacy and build your relations, or go to war and establish relations as we go, then it would give players a choice to say, i want to play this way, or i want to play that way.

Just my opinion, but i agree with StarfallArmada, i really really liked it the way it was to start. This new way, well, im not so hot about...
