Updating via Impulse is Stuck on 'Verifying' [ANNOYING]

I started an update for my DVD-Box copy of Sins over a day ago. (v1.0 > Latest) It has been stuck in this 'Verifying' infinite loop. This is a fresh copy no mods or add-ons of any sort.

I'm on Vista 64 Home Pre. with a core 2 P8400 4GB DDR3

Has anyone seen this issue before.. if so, how do you fix it?! I need to play real bad. My wife has hi-jacked my Xbox :(

 

BTW I'm using Impulse to update of course. Wish there was an easier way to do this.. in fact there's gotta be.. Anyone know?

I paused the update and restarted everything. When I unpaused that seemed to have worked as it completed the update.

 

I ran the game and changed some of my settings. Then I exited and checked a few web pages. When I tried to load the game again.. all I get is a BLACK SCREEN. I tried loading the exe directly, same thing.. I tried manually changing the settings (all reccomended in the faq) nothing.. This is LAME X|

 

Ok so now I'm going to reinstall this again...

having this same issue. I also just bought Entrenchment, but I need the game updated before I can even install it. Stuck at "verifying".....

 

Did you ever get this issue fixed?
