Is there any way to turn off icons for mines? I like to play longer games and like to build mines... but the more I build the slower the game seems to get. Is there any way to stop that from happening? Or should I just stop using them? I do like them though.

you must play SP like I do and find them useful againts the AI
Well i like mines also but i play multi mostly and use vas mines very often with succes in MP.
I do play against the AI for the most part... internet sucks for online. Ya I love them against the AI.
Ya know.. Get a few planets on a large map.... defend them... save game... turn all 9 AIs to unfair and watch the fireworks...
