More then 10 teams?

It is possible to have more then ten teams?

for example, I would create a large map which could possibly fit 100 teams, but in stead of having 10 teams i could set it to more like 20 so that there would be constant compitition to rule the large galaxy. (entire map) so it would kinda be a like a persistent galaxy. (which made me think that if a team is defeated a new random team will spawn in a deserted part of the map (but close to some enemys for competition) to create a very big persistent game?)

What are your gigs? :) I think a hundred-player map would probably make the game not just chug down to a crawl, but steal your RAM chips and run away with them.

That said, I think that the team limit is hardcoded. Not 100% sure.

There are certain ways around this believe, even if it is hardcoded. I think you can give pirates and militias planets and resources and they can expand correct? Possibly given the correct code or templates?

your still talking about making the game only playable on a NSA quantum computer with 80 way sli  (:rofl: ), just be happy that the game chugs along with 10 player maps, or share that wealth you have so we can build computers like urs :P

Hmmmm... well I can easily run 100 player map (10 planets per star, 2 players per star system making 50 star systems, 500 planets, its when ya get double that it gets to about 15fps (only 5gigs of ram)). Anyway how would I get around to being able to choose 20 teams.                 I like the idea of the militias and pirates expanding but they will all be the same (TEC varients), unless I could change that it would be great, but Im no modder.
