All of the advent capital ships probably are. And if they could move as well as they shoot they'd be fine.

"There was once a frigate that was built facing the wrong way.  'Oh noes' cried the engineers.  They needed the frigate facing the other way.

"Bobby was a new engineer, and still had lots to learn.  'Turn the frigate around' he ordered.  But Billy, a senior engineer with lots of experience, knew this would take to long.  So Billy order the construction of a new shipyard facing the other direction, and then the new shipyard build a new frigate facing the correct direction.

"Bobby learned a valuable lesson that day.  It's faster to build a new frigate, than it is to turn one around."

Well I'd imagine they are designed similar to how ocean going vessels are, the bigger they are the harder they are to stop, turn etc. They do both have thrusters and the like for manovering, but to make them equivilant to the main drive of the vessel would leave little space for anything else and be very expensive. But as for them turning slower than building a new one, well I think that they have been given a slow turn rate to give the effect that they are very large.

Well lets just say sh..! happens! Especially in the heat of battle.

I think all capital ships need 'L' plates on them.
