grottenhiem had already converted his real capitals from sins 1.05 to entrenchment 1.03, and there is a utility that can update ANY mod within an expansion eg entrenchment 1.03 to entrenchment 1.041 OR sins 1.15 to sins 1.181. the thread for the mod updater is here.
to use the mod updater,
you first make a folder next to the current mods folder in the ironclad games\sins folder with the name set to 'Mods-Entrenchment v1.03' (or what ever the version the mod is for),
extract the mod into the new (older version's) mod folder,
then download and extract the ENTIRE contents of the modding utilities.rar to a folder/usb stick on the computer then run the 'harpo's sins mod updater.exe',
in the file window that is visible navigate into the new folder(old version mods folder) so that you can see the folders with the mods that you want to update,
then click on the button 'set source to copy from' the button's label will change to the full path to the mods folder that you selected and a new destination folders view will appear with the starting location set to the current version mods folder for the expansion,
then click on the button labeled '2 set destination to copy to',
then click on the button labeld '3 copy and update the entity files' the utility will now copy all the files from the source folder(and KEEP the folder structure) checking to see if the file is an entity file if the file is an entity file it then checks to see if the file is in TXT or BIN mode if in bin it runs the convertdata from the source version to convert it to TXT then scans the file for the changes between the source version and the destination version, if it finds any lines(s) to change it changes them and writes the changes out to the destination file, and if it was in BIN it then runs the convertdata to convert it back to BIN, then continues with the next file untill all files have bell copied/updated.
then click on the exit button
there is just ONE more step to go before you will have a working mod and that is to run the 'sins manifest maker.exe' if the mod(s) you want ARE NOT total conversions( if it is a TC mod then do NOT run the manifest maker)( the reason is that ironclad games added 9 new entities with 1.04/1.041 and unless the new entitys are in the entity manifest then MINIDUMP)
tick on the entity tickbox, remove the tick from the tickbox for any expansions below the one you are updateing ie if you have diplomacy and are updating the manifest for an entrenchment mod then remove the tick from the diplomacy tickbox.
in the folderview navigate into the folder of the mod you want to replace manifests for(so that you can see the mod's gameinfo and other folders then click on the button '4 work on this mod' then click on the button '5 rename old manifests & create new manifests for the mod', within a minuite the program should finish finding ALL the entities that the mod needs and build a new entity.manifest and sae it in the mod's folder, then click on the exit button and start sins go to the options/mods page and you will see the mod that you just updated. select it , apply it then play
hope this helps
