I lost my saved data on the original sins when i updated

  I've only had the game for 2 weeks  but in game i know the TEC,ADVENT,VASARi empires really good or at least the TECS anyway.I was tryng to update it so i could play online but as soon as i updated it i looked at my saved games they were there,but the game said "invalid save type" it even said that for the auto saves and the recordings

 

what do i do?

Well, if it was version 1.0 or 1.05, you can just unistall the game and reinstall from the disc. Otherwise there isn't much you can do. :(

 

If you do go back to the older versions, I would just finish any games you like and then update to the new version, its really a lot better than the older ones.

just for the sake of completeness: ;)

 

this will happen every time you update your game to a newer version (and it´s not the only game, starcraft players for example have to deal with exactly the same issue down to the present day).

if i remeber correctly, there once was a thread here where the new diplomacy add-on was discussed, and it was mentioned that this problem is known and will possibly be taken care of in the near future, when diplomacy is released. (no guarantee for correctness there ^^)
