i can't see my maps in the game

when i've done a map with GF3 i save it in the "galaxy" folder

but when i launch the game i cannot find it

what must i do to finally play on my maps ???

 

i just noticed that i can see them in the medium map on Sins but not on Entrenchment

i've got Entrenchment 1.041 and it says it works on 1.01 on the website
is that the only reason why i can't see them ?

 

PS: i haven't found any "bug&fixes" forum so i posted it here, dunno if it was the right place

Same question as the OP!

 

I managed to find out that apparently maps only work with certain versions of the game(probably the specific Galaxyforge version they were made under? I'm guessing that each Galaxyforge version is compatible with a number of game-versions) when I was downloading some maps off wincustomize's map-index.

 

I downloaded the "sinsmapupdater" but it gives me a "Found sins version: 1.1.8.0 need sins version: 1.1.5.0"- message.

So now I'm also stuck not knowing how to make those awesome usermade maps from wincustomize to work and also my own made in GalaxyForge 3 (which I suppose is the latest version?).

melchi32 and cat empire, the recommended location for user created maps CHANGED with sins 1.16/entrenchment 1.01 from the OLD location of program files\..\galaxy to the NEW location

assuming you have sins 1.181/entrenchment 1.041,  the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xp

C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge

or here for vista/windows 7

C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge.

NOTE the first two folders after the 'user name' are hidden , so to see them you must first click on 'tools' then 'folder options', then 'view', then click on 'show hidden files& folders' then click ok, then you will be able to browse your want to the folder. I suggest when you find the folder that you create a shortcut to it on the desktop

note 2 the user name is your windows login name


also the galaxy forge maps only show up in the galaxy forge tab of map types

and if a map you want to play was released before 25th feb 2009 then you will also neet the sins map updater from here

i used to place the maps in the program files folder, not in the documents and settings one
