I recently got SoaSE for my brother, who lives in another state. He tried downloading the demo to double check that it would work on his computer (of which we had little doubt anyway). It didn't work, and wouldn't load, install or anything. BUT, his computer does with with many demos, including a Dawn of War 1 demo and several others. So I got it for him and it installed just fine, but when he goes to launch the game, nothing happens. As in, his computer does not even recognize that he has done anything. The CPU isn't being used, his memory usage doesn't go up, no black screen, no error messages. Nothing.

The only problem I can think of is that he doesn't have his display driver properly installed (he recently reformatted his PC). Even then, one would think that an error message would promt it's self... I personally can't direct him into doing so from here.

His computer specs are as follows:

Dual Core AMD Althlon processor at 2.4 Ghz

1 gig of RAM (I don't know the speed)

256mb PCI-Express video card (I think it's NVIDIA)

70gb HD

I recently had him download DirectX 9c

And he's operating on XP Home with Service Pack 3

Needless to say, he can play the game, at least on paper. I am pretty baffled as to why it won't work. Maybe someone can help?
