Can't save my GalaxyForge maps!!!

Ive made a Galaxy Forge map but i cant find where to save it! ive tried saving it in AppData/Local/IroncladGames/SinsOfASolarEmpire/GalaxyForge, ive also tired the Galaxy and Map Designer files in the same place. ive read that i need to find a 'Total Gaming' file in the SoaSE file but its not listed under the SoaSE file, i go to Stardock/Sins Of A Solar Empire and then i just get links to the game, please help!

The Galaxy Forge-made custom maps should go into the your "GalaxyForge" folder in your Application Data or AppData folder.  That is the right place.

What exactly is the problem?  When you save in the GalaxyForge folder and then load the game, the game never sees or acknowledges the files?  Are you on the most recent version of Galaxy Forge?  (If you open up the map files with Wordpad, does it say "versionNumber 3"?

I just opened it with word pad, says I have version number 1, is this the problem?

If so, where do I get version 3?

updated to version 3, still got the same problem of not being able to save any maps. help?

Have you patched the game to the most recent version?  You need the most recent version of galaxyforge and the most recent version of the game, or else they're incompatible.
