I really enjoy some of the music on this game and was wondering if you can get a soundtrack somewhere?
You could just find the sound folder in your Sins of a Solar Empire folder and copy them from there (the sound effects are in there too but it the name should tell you which one is which). They are in Vorbis Ogg format, but most media players should be able to play them and there are many free converters that can convert them into MP3.
the GOTY edition comes with a CD of the soundtrack.
Windows media player can play them too, but you just need to download some vorbis directshow thing for it.
You can find it on google
Really? To the contrary I found the music broing after 100+ games online and now i have the soundtrack turned off. A similar question Ive had in the back of my mind for a while is whethre there is a way to imput your own soundtrack for the game to play durring times of peace/war/battles, I have some songs on my own playlist that would be perfect but have yet figured out a way.... then again i havent really tried cause i assumed the worst.
Yes you can. You can go to the mod folder, And make a Folder with a mod name of your choice eg."Music mod"
And in that folder you make another folder called "Sound" .
(The mod folder is MyDocuments/Appdata/Local/Ironclad Games/Sins of a solar empire/Mod-Entrenchment v1.401)
Now you just put bunch of Music you like in .ogg folder and name each one the same as the original sins music names Such as
Vasari Theme .....etc
When you go into the game, all you gotta do is enable this little mod you made, And its 0 checksum so you can play with it online too.
I play with my custom musics all the time.
^Yeah I do the same thing as well. As long as you have a different song with the name of every music file (in .ogg format), you'll never hear the original tracks again and you don't have to delete any of the game files. It might increase loading times depending on the average length of your tracks though (of course 8 minutes were probably the average for the ones I used so my results might not be typical ).
I just turn the music off and run iTunes in the background. I've taken to doing that in pretty much all of my games at this point because, like CitizenGeneral said, after 100's of games it starts to get repetitive
Lol I bet you are probably one of those that also turn off the UI, effects and the Dialogue sounds also?
Usually I am running a movie or streaming a tv show on the web at the same time or on the rare instances I probably have the TV or WMP on
Nope, I leave those on. I don't mind them as much for some reason.
