Advent Fleet Composistion

Hello there

I'm rellativly new to sins and just recently began to play the advent faction. I usually play LAN games with friends vs. Unfair AI.

Anyway most of my friends only turtle and eco boom so its basiclly my job to build the army that will fight all the AIs until my teamates hoard enough resoursces to build a dozen novialiths a blow up the galaxy. I was hoping some of the pros here could help critique my fleet composition so I actually stand a chance.

My main goal is to have a fleet that doesnt take heavy loses as my teamates dont give me resources(In fact i usualy end up feeding them)

By buildup looks like this

-start with 1 progen mothership and a few disciples

-halcyon carier

then build up equal numbers of ilums and discuple plus an additional 3-4 progens

- another halcyon

-build up equal numbers of all the other cap ship until i reach what ever my pop cap is

-enogh drone hosts to get at least 50 squadrons of strike craft at half way on the popcap track(more later till about  75 squads)

and approx. 7 guardians at half way on the fleet popcap track

Is this a good fleet? What research is most valuble?

Well against human players the best fleet is the one that counters what your opponent has built is, but that certainly looks formidable. I'm surprised you build all the capital ships though, while the Progenitor and Halcyon are almost always useful, the other three I'd rarely build more than one of. I consider the Radiance the best of the three due to the best stats and it is a great cap destroyer, but since you don't see a lot of non carrier cap spams I don't usually build too many. A single Rapture is a good addition to strikecraft heavy fleets, and its abilities are decent, but it is rarely better to build one versus another Halycon. And the other captial ship (I don't even remember its name) I usually only use for the Clarvioyance ability and as a home defense ship, meaning I rarely ever build one at all.

thanks alot, ill turn my duplicate other capital ships into halcyons and progens!

Do you prefer disciples or ilums in your fleet?

I'm not saying that the others should never be built, but in general those two are better capital ship investments. If you are getting a lot of capital ships you might want to throw in a Radiance and a Rapture for diversification, but yes you should have way more Progens and Halycons than anything else.

I should mention that it sounds like you are building a lot of capital ships. While if they can survive long enough to get to high levels they are the best units in the game, before then you can get much more use out of the fleet supply by building frigates. This is a lot more noticeable against humans, as your opponents will like focus fire on your capital ships to destroy them quickly. I'm not saying you should build less, but if you ever venture into real multiplayer you might want to keep this in mind.

Illums are probably the better ship, even after the fixed damage bug, and against the AI I would have many more Illums than deciples. However, human players will build ships to counter your Illums unlike the AI, and many will have a lot of practice dealing with them due to the large number of Illum spamers out there.

If you are just fighting against the AI, simply spam the hell out of illuminators.  Also, if you are building a lot of capships, tech both levels of "Mass Transductance" - one of your ultimate military techs.

What is the point of having two Halcyon?  Wouldn't Radiance or Rapture be a better choice for third Cap?

Definitely: With a lvl 5 Radiance and Strikecraft-aura lvl 3 you get a 30% attack bonus to strikecraft. Take your time and do the maths: After 4 Halcyons it should be viable to get one Radiance for that bonus.

Unless you have a lot of cruiser carriers for the Rapture, the Halycon is probably the best choice as it gives a lot bigger boost to fire power than any other capital ship. Granted the amplify energy aura ability doesn't stack, but the Telekenetic Push and Extra Drone Anima allow you to get to level 7 with very useful abilities that for the most part don't effect eachother effect in groups. There are certian circumstances where a Rapture or Radiance might be better, but for the most part they are situational. The Halycon and the Progenator are not, which is why they are used far more often.

First of i go for the carrier, 2nd prog mothership. If im planing to take planets with a alone cap im go for the halcon.. and if im going to create some ships too help with the colonizing i go for prog cuz it heals.

When im building large kickass fleets i add atleast  2-3progs, 2-3halcon, no battle ship, and atleast one of the other 2.

Progs heal you, which are the most imortant one! Have most of these.. dunno vs ai, but players should take them out first (?) so beware

Halcon has strike craft and skill to kick away strike craft,

Radience got stun and 30% more dmg with strikeraft (right?) which are nice

the other ship2 got-40% cooldown, (right?) maybe good maybe not depends on situation, i usually prefare not to use the skill cuz then my progs runs out of antimatter quite fast and cannot restore shield,

and The battleship arent important.

Illum vessel / heavy cruiser are good for dealing dmg

Disciples can steal antimatter but no high dmg etc, i personally dont use them

Defence vessel for strikecraft, always good to have

Support vessels have a bunch of does, also guardians pretty many

Some dronehosts
