how can i CHANGE the LANGUAGE?

Hi there,

 

i'm from germany and I'm really fed up at the moment^^

I want to change the language of sins from english to german.

I searched for several hours but NOWHERE stands just 1 good answer to this problem^^

 

Am I just too stupid or what?

 

I'm relatively good at english but i WANT to CHANGE the LANGUAGE to GERMAN.

Everywhere it is "oft-quoted" that you can choose the language when you install the game.

I don't know if I'm just blind or something like that...

...THERE IS NO BOX, BUTTON, MENU or ANYTHING like that where i can change the language.

I'm clicking on "install" in Impulse and it automatically installs Sins of a Solar Empire.

Same with the AddOn Entrenchment.

 

No chance to select the language.

The Program does NOT ask me, there is no button, no selection..nothing...

 

Can someone PLEASE tell me there this "oft-quoted" language selection feature is??

I can not find it :( :( :(

We haven't gotten the updated localizations for the latest versions yet from the Euro publisher (and the game will not usually work with a wrong-version string file), so currently Impulse will only provide the English version.

And you won't. Haha. You're talking about Calypso media, aren't you? They never answer any question on their forum nor via email. You will need to go to their office in person disguised as the pizza man if you want to hear about them. Nah, I'm kidding you, they actually do answer when you ask them something... in german. Do you know german? :D

When you add languages, may I suggest that you also add a possibility to select the installation directory? When installing from german DVD I could select drive D for installation, which is great as that's a Velociraptor and Sins surely does not require to be stored on my systems SSD. However, when I did try to get rid of the german language (I'm german, but I really had problems to understand that translation aside from the english voices being MUCH better fitting), I could select the language but not where to install sins, thus it went to the SSD.

To all those who ask for german translation: Did you try vanilla sins in german? Do you REALLY prefer that over the english version? I find that translation HIGHLY irritating and difficult to understand. Indeed, even for other games where the translation itself was no problem to me (like starcraft / broodwar and warcraft III) I've only bought the german CDs to get the serials, then downloaded an english copy from the internet and installed it with my original serial, using the german CDs to satisfy the copy protection (until blizzard decided to remove copy protection from that game) as it did help when playing on the internet - otherwise it's also difficult to understand what people talk about if they have different languages.
