Confused

Hi im trying to mod some files like for example give the research buildings more armor etc. But every time i try and i go to Diplomacy the game crashes :(  was alot easier when it was just Entrenchment.

Also how do i increase the amount of Logistics and fleet crews i get thru research? (yea i know its cheating but oh well)

These mods im trying to do are for single player so no worries on me cheating in Multi,i dont believe in it.

what files are you using?

make sure you are using the Diplomacy converter to change the files properly

as for as the logisitcs/fleet crews just look

RESEARCHSUBJECT_MAXCAPITALSHIPS.....

RESEARCHSUBJECT_MAXSHIPSLOTS.......

as for cheating, well the AI uses the same research so its not cheating (though the game gets a little laggy with higher amounts of ships)

also Multi uses checksum numbers to make sure no one cheats and/or uses similar mods

We do it all the time with Distant Stars mod

im useing the files that came with forge/entrenchment. i did try converting them with the diplomecy converter but it seems like it doesnt do any thing,a DOS box comes up real quick and closes. lol probally doing it wrong :(

 

Didnt know it did a check for multi,well i wouldnt cheat in multi anyway even if there wasnt a check. Dont want to get banned.

The files in the forge tools have long been out of date. You'll have to copy the game files in diplomacy (if the files Ryat named are in the diplomacy folder, if not they will be in the regular Sins gameinfo folder) and convert them yourself. I recommend getting a GUI converter like Harpo's tool, its great if you are like most people and don't like messing with DOS windows.

Thank you sooooo much!!! lol had harpos old tools no wonder nothing was working. i found his updated ones.

Thanks again for the help. Now i can create some evil stuff to teach my enemies a lesson muhahahaha !!! :)

 

(getting wiped out 5 times in a row even on easy is pathetic,its PAY BACK time muhahahaha  :P )

jamesjb, I release fresh updates for ALL of my utilities each patch, sometimes it might take a ouple o days longer than I want, but I do try to release utilities without any signifiant bugs, and as i find bugs I DO post in the respective thread and fix them as fast as i can
