sins 2 could b just a BIG expantion i would buy it

2x more ship, planit , fighter, and heros

brand NEW game big $$ .   if no EPIC FAIL BUGS  new start new life to sins

make a more frendly  updater and ,mod downloader

hell they dont even have to come up with new ideas  the modders of 7 deadly sins or distant stars got good ones.

3# so its tuesday march 15 5pm pst  there is 21 people online...

this game is dead. O and the community that is online is trying to play a 5v5.

i have no words for how frustrated i am.   with all the mini dumps im 0-of 30  for games of 5s that someone didnt mini dump and end  the game.

im a fan of the 1v1 2v2s

there r so few players i cant get a game  and if by some mirical i do after waiting 10min

iv probably played them already.

For whatever reason, this game appealed primarily to people who play single player or didn't appeal at all to the types of people who play online multiplayer. Even in the first few months after the game's release, the most people I ever saw online was 280. That very fact alone pretty much necessitated that online multiplayer Sins would die eventually.
I think it's that far fewer people play RTS's online than most would imagine. Look at Demigod. It was made almost exclusively for online multiplayer, and only 23% of the people who bought it even attempted to go online. That's not even the number that played a game online, just that tried to go online.

How much time have the devs spent perfecting the game for 5% of it's users?

Jesus, I can't even read this post. Is it in English?

although, i do have to agree that IC will be better off abandoning a sinking ship and starting over with Sins 2. Sins is great in itself, but the perpetual balance problems are a result of the very nature of the game, so without making some very drastic changes to the very base of the game, they are never going to get it right.

so, despite the OP's insults the the English language, i do agree that its time the devs expanded on the potential of Sins with a second game

Perhaps Sins's balance will never be perfect, but it can be continually improved.  As far as I know the only real balance problem right now is Scramble Bombers, which shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Geez, where do we get these guys from anyway?

Also, SPELLCHECK.

Rnick, what did you find objectionable?  (I haven't read this thread for a while, so if something jumps out I wouldn't remember it.)

Partially hilarious grammar in the OP. If english isn't his/her's first language i understand that bit. However, I have never experienced any minidumps or sync issues when not using mods, but i admit that i mostly play SP and LAN.

By comparison with certain games that will remain unnamed, Sins is actually quite balanced.

Warcraft 3 is not a valid comparison, as it has been around longer, was a bigger title at launch, and was made by BLIZZARD. By comparison, Sins is rather niche. And lastly, i have always been rather impressed with ironclad's support and with the community. But maybe i'm just a glass-half-full kinda guy.

Yeah.  Nabs is a better Sins player than a writer, that's for sure.  I hope you'll consider trying the game on Ironclad Online sometimes.  There are actually a number of newer players around now, and I think the ratio of new players to experienced pros has increased significantly in the past month.

First off, I know this was on page 1, but comparing Warcraft III to Sins is ridiculous.  They don't use the same engine, and are therefore two different animals alltogether.

Now, I do understand that its frustrating how small the online community is.  And that community is even more limited by the fact that there are now 3 different variations of the game that we have to match up to be able to play.  Personally, I don't do MP, but I may start.

But this post is an outright bash on stardock/ironclad IMO, and is not justified in the slightest.  They launched a great game, and deserve te proper credit for it.  No, it's not perfect, but it is very respectable.  As to minidumps, I've played 3 games online, and a few LAN, and only had 1 of the 3 Online minidump, and none of the LAN games so I don't really know where that argument came from.

I agree with you, Twilight Storm.  In spite of everyone's bitching, some of which is mine, we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that Ironclad and Stardock did a great job with this game, creating a game that we care enough about to complain about in the first place.  Sins is one of those rare, worthwhile titles that isn't hampered down by nasty DRM or consolization.

i bet money starcraft 2 wont have synk errors and  mesh bugs

and as 4 complex hardly   no more complex rts thas warcraft 3

like i said i love sins but i would like to play more than the 30 pros  who play

37000  people  playing 17000 games on a tuesday on warcraft 3

and lost of long games  just not all r long ..  not everyone has 3 hrs  4 a multi player game

i dont mean to sound like an ass, but your computer has issues if you keep getting all these errors, and you shouldnt be using a computer if you cant spell lan properly....cmon now LAND? really this isnt magic the gathering or some pilot sim.....i have even played this game on a computer that the min. system requirements werent even met, and never once did i get an error....i still dont get errors....and i played a 7.5 hour multiplayer game about 2 nights ago on my LAN with a friend!

I only have issuse when Playing AI for a LONG time.  Like, setting up an epic chokepoint with a full fleet/tactical slots maxed out, fully upgraded Starbase, the works.  Then, I go to bed and leave the game on.  (Single Player Only, I say again for clarity)

Sometimes I'll wake up to an error.  (IDK, haven't done that in a while)  Then I'll rebuild what needs rebuilding, drool over my surviving near lvl 10 cap ships, and go eat the AI for breakfast.

Yep, most of us have not abandoned the "sinking" ship. And its still going strong. Hope this means there will be a Sins 2 with 64-bit/multi core coming.
