Are there any mods that increase the pacing of the game overall?

Even with all settings on fast, it really seems like the gameplay is a little sluggish, especially late into a game where you are building/researching high tech stuff.  Would there happen to be a mod out there that increases the build speed, research speed, and possibly the combat speed (i.e. ships move and fire faster).  I also would like to know if there was a mod to make building capital ships more feasible for gameplay, because as it stands it really seems like its just not worth it to spend the resources to both research additional crews and build a capital ship (and optionally purchase level-up's, which also are a little pricey).

The slow pacing of the game is the only complaint I hear about this game amoungst my friends, so if I could make it a more time-feasible activity for us, then maybe I can convince them to play it with me again hopefully.  Any help is appreciated, even if you can confirm for me that a mod like this simply does not exist.  If it doesn't, then I may take it upon myself to create such a mod.

Distant Stars had a thing where each additional research structure you build increases your research rate by 5%... not sure what happened to that.

Distant Stars has changed the fastest setting to make it even faster. If thats what your looking for.

that was a mythilogical beast, never existed

but as Carbon said we speed up the rest of the game by quite a bit on the fastest setting and beefed up the Caps as well, lol we even had t nerf'em a bit because of Cap spamming

I have the beginnings of a mod that does this (not just by making the settings faster either), but I still need to get some twirks with the balance worked out first. I haven't had a whole lot of time to spend on it though.
