Windowed mode crashes!

Hi all.
I want to play galciv in windowed mode but it crashes with the message "the memory could not be written.". Any solutions.
(I run the game on server 2003)

You're running galciv.exe with the command line parameter, right? If you're using galcivw.exe, that's old and won't work with the latest code.

If you're not using the command line parameter, right click on the galciv icon, click properties and add a w after the target.  So it will look something like this: "C:\program files\stardock\galciv\galciv.exe" w

If you are using the command line parameter, make sure that you are running in 16 bit color, and you need to be in 1024 x 768 resolution or higher.

I was running galcivw.exe, but I tried galciv.exe with -w parameter. It still doesn't run in windowed mode. It starts in full screen mode.

Aki non: what version are you using? If you're not using 1.04 or higher, the parameter won't work.

Also, do you have a space after the last quote, before the w?
