Eyefinity

I must be an idiot, but how do you search these forums?

Does anyone know if this game works properly with eyefinity?  I know its on ATI's list, but that just means it runs at the resolution.  I'm wondering how the interface looks?  If critical information is on the far side of the side monitors, then it probably is too difficult to play that way...

Thanks for any help!

i havent heard of anyone using this yet in sins, but you never know.

which list did you see sins on?  i only found this one... http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-software.aspx

if the technology just sees the three screens as a single large screen then you shouldnt have any trouble.  there are ways to force the resolution as well as view the game in a window.  check out the mod forums directly at https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com.

to search, you should see a search box in the top right corner of the screen.

To search, I go to Google's advanced search and search the domain:  forums.sinsofasolarempire.com

"which list did you see sins on? "

Ya that was the one.  I have no doubt the resolution will work as most games work fine - its just the interface that tends to get screwy and in a game like this, that would most likely be unplayable.

And thanks for the google search option - that worked, and i found references to eyefinity, but not about anyone using it in this game.

Wasn't this game pretty popular?  I came THIS close to buying the first time around, so I'm surprised that nobody has commented on eyefinity support.  X3 Terran Conflict looks amazing on it!

You could download the demo and see if the resolution is okay with that.

Found a screenshot here: Sins Eyefinity

Some of the interface does move to the side screens - I'll check out the demo as recommended and see if it hampers the gaming experience

Thanks!

I've played SINS using Eyefinity.  The screen shot shows the answer to your questions.

The tree does appear on the far left, and the info cards appear on the far right, which can make it a bit difficult to manage the empire, as these parts of the user interface cannot be moved.  It would be great if the developers would modify the interface so that these elements are relative to the central main interface, so that they wouldn't move to the edges.

Better yet, they should make the tree customizable as far as being able to move it to where you want, and resize it to more than one column.  As for the info cards, it'd be nice if they where shown attached just to the lower right of the interface.  I'm not sure if there is a mod out there that addresses these user interface problems for Eyefinity.

I have found that the game plays best with monitors placed in portrait mode if you have a 3x1 setup, since then, the tree has more room to expand.  Too bad they can't make a tree with multiple columns.

Thanks for the feedback!  I tried for a while to adjust both the empire tree and the info card with no luck (https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/378499/page/1/#2581225.)

I do actually have monitors that go into portrait mode, maybe I'll try that (it's not terribly easy to do though.)

I started "Rebellion" this morning and 5040 x 1050 is an available setting in the options but I cannot apply it. It is not an available game in the Eyefinity list. My other two secondary monitors do shut off when I launch SoSE from Steam.
