Yes it does. We have a version of T.O.P. for each version of Sins. For Original Sins put "The Optimization Project OS" in your mods-v1.191 folder. "The Optimization Project E" goes into mods-Entrenchment v1.051. "The Optimization Project D" goes into your mods-Diplomacy v1.011 folder.
The projects primary goal was to keep sins from using more than 2 gigs of ram during a normal game with minimal loss of detail. We accomplished that goal. The side benefit is that it does indeed increase Sins performance.
Now the focus is more on performance increase for lower end systems. Again with minimal to zero loss of detail. If too much is taken away visualy then its not going into the project.
Keep in mind these things..
We WILL NOT, or will we EVER change vanilla sins stats with this project. Let Ironclad worry about the stats. We want to make it to where everyone with a halfway decent, or even a mediocre system can enjoy sins in all its glory. My test system most certainly qualifys as a "low end" system. However i can play Diplomacy with the project in its present state on maximum settings with decent fps until late game, and never worry about hitting the 2 gig brick wall.
Free time has been virtually non existant for me the past few weeks. Big RL contract going on, and lots of hours being invested. Who can help sivcorp import the stuff he has done so far?
