Just Cause 2

Just Cause 2

This game looks DAMN good.

It's hard to believe games are starting to look this good.

Pretty dang fun too, though obviously not terribly deep.

Screenshots will give you a general idea, sure.

But they don't show you very well the exact clarity differences in special effects.  Every title I've noticed with both DX9 and 10 support had some pretty striking differences in that department.

I don't use my 360 for much of anything now that I got my new system...except of course games I can't get on the PC.

That's fair, and frankly a top of the line PC will always have the advantage over the Xbox.  Besides, a game this fun - as long as it runs at a playable framerate, who cares?

After getting my controller setup I ended up back on KB/Mouse anyways. Didn't like trying to drive with an analog stick without having analog, I was all over the place  . After playing with the mouse sensitivity settings I think I have it where I want it. I went and raised some hell at the NPP with the Ultars(or is it Ulars) and am having a blast.

Since I game in moods I normally have about four different games being played through at once. An action game, a racer, a Strategy/RTS and an RPG usually. This assures I always having something to play for the mood I'm in. Just Cause can now fill the need for action :)

A top of the line PC will eat consoles for lunch. A midline PC will compete with consoles easily.

I imagine even a bottomline PC will look just as good as most console titles out there. Consoles are way outdated but hey graphics aren't eveything. Good games never die.

Anyway just picked up a copy of Just Cause 2 and am gonna give it a try.

Forums went gablooeeeyyyy

Just becnhmarked The Dark Tower.

Everything high to very high and either 8x to 16x at 1080p and averaged 32.80 FPS

Very happy with that. Only thing is it only reconized 4084 megs of RAM instead of my 6 gig.

I may or may not still be using a PC for gaming in five years.  I would hope MS won't royally screw up their next console.

PC gamings lacks are nowhere near as bad as they were with XP and Vista but they're still definately there.

Yep.  The sad thing is, it kinda works.  I wouldn't go to some random place in Asia and expect everyone to speak perfect English :p

It' a really bad imitation of a Singaporean accent. They probably made everything bad on purpose, though.

That's the impression I'm getting from videos and gameplay footage; it's meant to be bad, which fits in wel with the over-the-top gameplay I think.
