Horrendous Screen Spinning Issue (Trinity)

Ok, so, this is a last resort.

I have tried everything other than formatting. I have used a new mouse. I have used a new keyboard. I have unbound every keybind in the game and it still happens because you can't unbind the mouse. I have full reinstalled the game. I have clean reinstalled my graphics drivers and sweeped everything.

So, the problem. When I enter a game (there are no issues running it at all, perfectly smooth) all is well. If I zoom in anywhere on the map with mouse wheel or with the keyboard zoom it works fine. If I try and zoom OUT with either mouse or keyboard it doesn't work at all. I have to use context shift. Now the real problem. If I hold right mouse and move it (to move the 3d perspective) it starts spinning as it should. However, when I let go it starts speeding up and spins frantically at full rotation so fast that I can't even click anything on the screen. I can still zoom in and sometimes context shifting works to get me back to a distant view. I can slow the spinning by holding right mouse again but as soon as I let go madness is back. Eventually my screen goes entirely black (The HUD does not spin or turn back, I can still see the entire UI perfectly fine and control structures/units). When I go back to the menu the planet behind the menu is doing the ridiculous spin.

If anyone fixes this I will bake you a cake personally.

First, the easiest way to zoom out is caps lock, it goes from planet to galactic view instantly.

Second, I've had the same problem, but while playing Spore.  My guess would be something to do with the mouse, but that's just a guess.  Is it something special, that would have its own post-shipping drivers to install in the comp?  If so, try re-installing those.

A guess:  When this happens in the game, (Single Player Fix)  Save, exit, and reload, and see if it persists.

That's all I can offer as far as help.

Also, try PMing Kryo, and/or looking up the support page in the back of the Sins manual for better advice.  (Hopefully)

If you bought the game online, the manual is a PDF listed under Stardock Games in the start menu, and the support site name is listed around 6-ish pages from the end.

Hope this helps!

It is a Razer Deathadder so yeah it has drivers but they're all installed and reinstalled. I tried with a logitech G5 and that didn't work either. Capslock works but I still can't zoom out with the mouse or keyboard and still spins etc. When I exit and reload the game the spinning has stopped but then as I right click it starts up again.

Cheers on the advice of who to contact.

No problem.  Tell me if you figure it out, I'm curious as to what causes it too.

You'll need to work with support on this one, I really couldn't begin to guess as to what might cause such a strange issue.

Also, try PMing Kryo

I'm the Moderator/CM, not support. I do what I can for simple issues posted in the forums, but anything that's not a simple or known issue needs to go to proper support. Please don't advise people to PM me about technical issues since all I'll be able to tell most of them is to contact support directly.

Sorry bout that...I honestly thought Moderators and support were a little closer together in purpose.
