Star Wars: Battlefront.

I bought it a week before my Xbox arrived from Ebay back in '05, and I have never afterwards been truely "wowed" by a game.I still have it, more scratches than readable data, barely getting it to work on a 360. Empire Earth 3 (after Sierra went bust, because I couldn't get a patch for it), Halo 3, and one mission in MW2 (Of Their Own Accord, I believe. Shoot the crap out of commies in DC with a minigun, chopper, and Javelin while storming the whitehouse. This mission is the only reason why I still have the game, and I'm getting BBC2 ASAP) were the next best things. BTW, no online multiplayer was at my disposal for any of these games, most because Xbox Live is not servicable where I live, and EE3 because the patch was nonexistant and the company likely bankrupt (can anyone confirm this about Sierra?).

Yep, have to say Galciv2, even when I was learning how to play it (took a while, wasn't really a 4x fan at that stage) I was sceptical that it could be that great...man was I glad to be wrong! I played the crap out of that game. As for good stuff being harder to sneak up on you as you get older...I find books are immune to that phenomenon, actually now that I think of it...defcon was another good one I expected nothing from.

GalCiv 2... I mean this game came out of nowhere for me and blew me away! I played the demo like 3 times and I was like... MUST BUY!

SoaSE was the first game in a long time I just took a chance on.

Riding Sins high, i took a chance on Demigod.

It took a lot to take a chance again but just recently, Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West. It's a western third person shooter that recently came out on steam. I love the setting, the level design is top notch and the action is perfectly paced. Multiplayer western shooter, it's been to long since Outlaws, but the wait was worth it. Only $15 too.

Last game I bought without reading reviews and knowing anything about the game....

 

Think it was Final DOOM for the Playstation back in 1996. Twas good.

 

Before that I bought Double Dragon V for the SNES since Double Dragon IV and the prequels were so good.

 

BIG MISTAKE!   I GOT RIPPED OFF!   IT WAS A COMPLETE CLUSTERF*** OF A GAME!!!

GOD I want to beat up the guy who made that game....

 

 

 

You people who like Heroes IV             Create a new thread and talk about it. I want to know what you like about that game. Over at Celestialheavens (a good Heroes of Might & Magic site) half the regulars like it while the other half think it is the worst shit in 10 years and a absolute discrace to gaming.

I`ll bite. Here is my HOOM IV story.

 

I bought Heroes IV without reading reviews. Hey, its Heroes... Put it on the shelf after playing a couple of hours. Just didnt get the right vibe. Then some months later I tried again and got COMPLETELY HOOKED. Why? Cause of one new feature that changes the HOO saga. Monsters that move. If you turn up the difficulty level and activate this then the game is EXTREMELY challenging in single player mode. The monsters will attack if you are within a certain radius of them. You have to be very, very careful. I loved it.

I think this is mainly because of my style of pc gaming. I set the game to beat me almost every time. I love playing against overwhelming odds and dont mind loosing 98% of my games.

Me TOO! The original is the best. Though I would've liked to see Renegade Squadron ported from PSP to a console or PC. My daughters and I waste hours playing split screen on the PS2. We never got into BF2 like we did the first one.
