Importing ships into sins

any one knows how to the tutorial deseapeared

guys seriously it's been about 5 month since the tutorial deseapeared in the original post and no one reposted it yet so new  modders are left with no way of importing (the 3ds max plugin don't work with 3ds max 2010)

 

plz some one re upload the file or upload anyways to import a damned ship into the game

Well I am new to this as well. I thought I had it and search my comp a few times for you but no-go. I do know it has to come from XSI so if you make your model with 3ds max you have to import it to XSI. Did you do the steps that came with the documents in Modding_XSItoSins_ModdingSupplement.pdf‎. 

It can only help the community by having more modelers.

You need XSI. While you can model ships in any modeling program. you MUST have XSI to finish your model, and make it ready for import. Version 6.0 is what the developers used. Mod Tool is free, and will work, but its a little more of a challenge to use.

Photoshop, or equililant for texture editing. It must be able to read, and save dds, and edit the color/alpha channels  Most use Gimp if you are looking for a free program.

For  the Game info, stats, ship, and player entity editing etc. etc. all you need is trusty wordpad. Though you may want to use Harpos tools (can be found in the 1st few pages of these boards) to convert vanilla sins entitys from binary to text first.

Read the mod documentation that comes with the forge tools. While it doesnt cover everything it explains much, and what it doesnt explain you can usually find here..

I know the search function on this board is non existant. Why there is no search function is beyond me, but there is three years worth of valuable modding information that can be looked up if you take the time to sift through it all.. I know its a pain in the ass to look through every post, but the info is out there.
