Downloaded mods not showing up under Options

First mod I am trying

I have downloaded the Real Capital Ships mod for SOASE. I have not downloaded the Entrenchment version yet.

I have downloaded the file to the mod folder. I have double checked the path to the path given in Mods under Options and it is correct. I have unzipped the contents. It does not show any mods available. I am doing something wrong or the game would recognize it. Other than unzipping in the correct folder is there another installation step I must make?

Thanks in advance. This is a really great game. I am new to it.

Well, all the game looks for is any regular folders inside the correct mod folder. If the files are just in that folder, or it is still in a zip file or something, it is not going to work. If that doesn't solve your problem, can you show a screenshot of your mod folder?

Edit: I also just saw this, maybe it will help?
