Any luck for those without Entrenchment or Diplomacy? :(

Hello guys, I'm an old diehard vet of Sins who's coming back for more after a year's break. I'm really in the mood to try out some mods but I don't know where to start! Can someone guide me? Using Sins of a Solar Empire 1.191 through Impulse, no expansions.

 

Are there any mods that:

 

-Liven up the space battles

-Add more techs to the trees

-Enhance the graphics and sound

-Increase the AI

 

That don't need the expansions?

sorry man, when Entrenchment came out it did so much for the mod community that Vanilla mods died off :(

it only cost $10 for Entrenchment or $20 for both and they are both well worth the price

If I just got Entrenchment would that open up a lot of mods for me, or do I need to get Diplomacy too? Are there any mods for Entrenchment that do what I said in the opening post? :(

Diplomacy hasn't been out too long so there SHOULD be mods for it out there.  No promises though.

I agree with Ryat, though, they are definitely worth the price.  At the very least, Entrenchment adds a whole new aspect to the game if you just concider Starbases and Mines, not to mention all the other researches the expansion added.

I don't believe wecan get into the AI through modding, that part of the code seems to be locked from what I've understood.

as for the AI, well Diplomacy really revamps the AI, but Twilight is right, no way to mod the AI

Distant Stars does the rest quite nicely I feel (of course I'm biased)

I believe most of the graphics mods have versions for regular Sins (Volumetric Explosions does at least), and most of the sound mods should to, but most of the mods that add new content have mostly shifted to the expansions.

for gods sake buy entrenchment it cost what ? 8 bugs i whant never go back to normal sins no starbasses no realy deff without fleet... simple buy entrenchment !!!! theres one star trek mod only for the normal sins its called future wars http://www.moddb.com/mods/future-wars-tactical-simulation
