Vasari AI

Rise of the Capital Ships?

Firstly, I'm sorry if my english isn't the best, but it isn't my native language.

 

Secondly, after Trinity was released I played some games again the Vasari AI and

even in games with a harder difficult setting, the Vasari only use capital ships. They fly around

with 10 - 13 of them but there were absolutly no cruisers or frigates. The only smaller ships they use

are scouts and colony ships.

 

Is this planed this way?

So it is absolutly no problem to crush them down with a strong support behind your own

capital ships, and I really miss the versatility. They have a lot of strong and interessting

ships but why don't they use them?

 

Am I the only one with this problem or is this the normal way with diplomacy?

What difficulty level are you playing?

In my current game there are 3 Vasari AIs and I haven't seen this happening either.

Very curios.

I played 1 game with the normal ai and something around 7 games with hard and the next

difficult setting (I don't know the english name, is the last one with a red background).

In all these games the vasari only use their capital ships, maybe the problem is the small fleet size

option. I will try it with a normal sized one later.

 

It is also a clear installation with last patch and absolutly no mods running.

But if nobody else had this problem, it may be possible that another ai crushed their

smaller ships and so I only had to fight the big ones.

Hmm.. maybe it's that you're using some funny options? Try default fleet sizes/speeds and Hard+ AI, it should be fine.

 

EDIT. Better yet, please write what settings you were using EXACTLY so that we can check if we get the same issues. If we do, then it's a bug that can be reproduced and it would be so much easier for IC to fix!

Thats weird 4 me too.

There are some mods that play only with capitals out there but i assume u don't have them.

Most caps in AI I've seen was on Diplo against vicious ai ( all races ) but they never got more than 6 or 7 of them.
