Watch a Replay of a 5v5 with pro players on Diplomacy

Here is a replay of a 5v5 game played on Diplomacy with pro players.  (People are always asking for recorded games they can watch, so here it is.)

eh i dont have the expansions so i cant watch it i guess.  where do i find replays for regular sins?  or do i have to get lucky and hope someone posts replays in a thread

Yeah, you have to hope that someone posts a replay.  If I play in any competitive regular Sins games I'll post a replay.  However, most of the games and players that are worth watching are on Diplomacy.

Another alternative if you have only Sins is to watch a good commented play through on YouTube. You might learn something there.

GetDaved is currently doing a Sins 2v2 Hard AI play through with 14 videos up so far.

Dirty, I will certainly watch this one myself. I wish there were many more good replays. Maybe if there was a stickied replays thread in Multiplayer.

I have murmured in the direction of Stardock more than once that they need more YouTube exposure. It perhaps might help if someone at Stardock would take the time to post a commented version of some good Diplomacy replays.

You guys at Stardock can do that can't you? ... Naaaaah!

If someone wants to give it the YouTube treatment, that would be fine by me.  (Not sure how you make an hour-and-a-half long YouTube video though.)

I agree that we could use a good, narrated pro game replay up on YouTube.

Well, in practice 90 minutes is 9 ten minute videos usually. Problem is, I don't have the stuff to do it.

Youtube is a good place to demonstrate a specific tactic or how to use some ship combos effectively -- it isn't a great place to watch a whole replay because you are limited to whatever view the person recording the video is using.  When you watch a replay you can get in there and examine the build orders, research orders, and general playstyle of every player in as much detail as you can stand.
