Sync Issues - ICO

Using the search feature I saw that this issue has been reported before and was apparently fixed a while ago but I didn't want to necro-post on year + posts.  I've been playing with some friends via ICO these past few weeks and we're encountering de-sync issues where one or two of us will be seeing one state of the game while the other person(s) are basically playing against AI at some point during the game once the de-sync occurs.  Pretty obvious when playing vs. each other and we can rename the same planet, since it shows player owned for both opposing teams..  Is there something we can do to reduce/eliminate whatever is causing de-sync'ing (note, no one ever disconnects and typically lag isn't occurring / pings remain low.)?

I suggest that everyone close their Sins game and reload it before and after each game.  That might help solve the problem.  Also, does everyone have the latest patch?  (A major desync bug was fixed in the most recent patch.)  If you're playing over ICO, have you considered trying to play via a direct connect (the "Multiplayer" button)?  Maybe that will make it better.

I was under the impression that the Multiplayer option was for LAN play, but they should be able to plug in my IP and Direct Connect?

Otherwise, is there any other options?  Because we've had the issue in the first game we've played in an evening, after a fresh boot of the game into ICO.

Consider giving ICO another chance perhaps?  But yeah, you should be able to just enter the host's IP address if you click on Multiplayer.  I've done it before and it worked smoothly.
