another stupid question

:hugme:   ok why in the world cant i get any of the planetmodules phaseorbital to work they keep crashing

only mod ive done too these files is increased the sheilds to equal the hull 

made the regen a standard 2

and the mitigation a 0.6

 

or should i just jack the hull to 2x

and increase the hull regen rate to x2 :sick: :puke: x_x

Can you paste that section of the entity file so we can see what you did. You should be able to give them shields.

get notepad++ and open all that type of file and do a "Search in open Documents" or search a chosen directory for a term like MaxHullPoints and you will see all the different values.

Are you using the Dev.exe (found in your main sins installation folder)? When you use it what error message do you get before the game crashes? If you can't decipher it by yourself post it here. Most of the time you can easily find mistakes/typos from reading these error messages.

Until then, or if the Dev.exe doesn't return anything useful, I suggest you rename your edited module file (just add a "2" to the filename), and make your race use the standard file to see if you have other problems. Then copy the unchanged file to your mod folder and use that one, giving it the exact same name as your modded file had.

If either of these crash your game, your problem isn't (only) in the module file.

If that doesn't crash the game, try changing values on the file you copied and check every time. Once the game crashes, you know which value is causing problems.

But really, try the Dev.exe first.

working now (was using the stuff in the forgetools which doesnt seem to work)
