Another quick question

My brother, who helps with my moding efforts, but dosen't have an acount on the forum, wanted me to ask this question for him.

 I’m trying to integrate the diplomacy frigate into the original, vanilla Sins. Right now all I’m using is the Geneva class cruiser. The mod successfully loads, but when I go to build it, the ship builds to within a few seconds of being finished, then minidumps. The problem is obviously in the mesh. I’ve used meshes from entrenchment, and even diplomacy in the vanilla game before without any problem. What’s different about this one? I’m just using the normal mesh, with no modifications. I tested my ship using another mesh and it built and flew fine. Any ideas?

How did you copy the ship from diplomacy to sins. If you just copied the entity file from diplomacy and pasted it into vanilla, there are many things that could go wrong. If you are using a vanilla file as the base and then just change the mesh of the ship to the Geneva cruiser, then yes it is probably the mesh. I know some changes were made with the meshes in Entrenchment (and thus diplomacy) but I'm not exactly sure on the details.

I was using a vanila entity file and just changing the mesh and abilities.

What's the "Geneva" cruiser? I'm guessing it's an old name for the TEC envoy?

Did you copy the textures? They could possibly have problems too, or if you forgot to copy them all that will surely crash the game.

Other than that I noticed the (TEC envoy) mesh has quite a few "Exhaust" hardpoints. Does vanilla sins have a lower hardcode limit for them?
