Dev.exe vs Developer.exe??

I have 'Sins of a Solar Empire Dev.exe', 'Sins of a Solar Empire Diplomacy Dev.exe', and 'Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment Dev.exe'.

I also have:  'Sins of a Solar Empire Developer.exe', 'Sins of a Solar Empire Diplomacy Developer.exe', and 'Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment Developer.exe' in the same folder, F:/Sins/Stardock Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/

I can run all the 'Dev.exe' applications, but when I try to run the '... Developer.exe', I get an error about 'SDActivate.exe'.  So I run 'SDActivate.exe' and nothing happens.  I try to run '...Developer.exe' and get an activation window, so I enter my email address and paste from clipboard the registration number from my impulse window/acct.  I click 'Activate' and it tells me "Invalid Product".

What gives?

You want to use the Dev exes not developer. Not sure how you got those. You can try to delete them and then validate your install with impulse or just leave them and create shortcuts to the Devs.

the *dev.exe's are in you sins program folder IF you have updated with impulse since sins 1.16/entrenchment 1.02.

the use of the devs is the same as the standard game program, but it stops for EACH error, and if you want further info about the commands of the dev's try here http://sinsmodding.dreamhosters.com/index.php?title=Developer_Exe

hope this helps
