I created a map in Galaxy Forge, then first tried placing it in the galaxy folder for Enchrencment, then Tried placing it in the folder :C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge.

After trying both of these location i can still not get my map to show up any suggestions?

Did you make sure to look under the GalaxyForge tab in the map selection (I think it goes small/medium/large/custom/GalaxyForge)?

the galaxy forge maps in the local apps galaxyforge folder only show up in the galaxy forge tab of map types in sins 1.16+/entrenchment 1.02+

if the galaxy forge map is placed in any of the program files galaxy folder(s), then the map NEEDS to be manually added to the entrenchment & diplomacy galaxy.manifests(not recommended as EACH update will replace any files that are different or have been changed)

and if a map you want to play was released before 25th feb 2009 then you will also need the sins map updater from here
http://files.filefront.com/sins+map+updater+v201rar/;13585432;/fileinfo.html.

the differences between map versions0,1 & 2 were only the addition of ONE line near the start of the file, BUT mapversion3 has 5 new lines PER PLANET/player & template and 5 changed lines per planet/player & template and WILL CAUSE THE mimidump curse if you just change the version number.

if you have galaxyforge 3 then there is a problem, but if you are using an older version of galaxyforge then you NEED my map updater.

if you are having problems with a map or maps you could email them to me to sort out at harpo99999 at hotmail.com and I will findout the cause and advise on how to fix.

I do not advise you to do that, as any updates that happen in the future will OVERWRITE the modified file and you then lose all the modifications you have made.

it is easier to just put the galaxy's in the galaxyforge folder in the HIDDEN loacal appdata folder which is the SAME path as mods.

BUT if you really MUST edit the galaxy.manifest file the points to note are

1 the number of maps at the TOP of the manifest (add the number of maps you are adding to the count here)

and

2 the exact format of the lines for EACH of the maps (same leading part("FileName ", with the map file name in quotes(without extension (the bit after the full stop(.))) also note that the file IS VERY CASE sEnSaTiVe do NOT alter the case if you want it to work (add more lines with the 'Filename " ' your maps name ' " ' for each of the maps you are adding

3 blank line at the end of the file.

back at sins 1.15/entrenchment 1.00 release there was such an issue where the maps were not relocated yet and were needed to be added to the manifest, and I wrote a small utility to replace the galaxy.manifest with one that listed all the files in the program files galaxy folder, (this is in my modding utility pack)

hope this helps
