Why can't you combine Diplomacy and Entrenchment?

What kind of dumb idea is it to only be able to play core, dip, or entr one at a time.

Oh you need that 5 dollar toy?  Here is 5 dollars, but you can only spend it one at a time :D

Good news, Entrenchment includes the entire gameplay of the core game. More good news, Diplomacy contains all the gameplay of Entrenchment and the core game.

Diplomacy definitely doesn't have anything with or about Entrenchment.

Now somebody feels silly posting before reading the basic FAQ's about the game...:-"

Diplomacy = new Diplomacy stuff + all of the Entrenchment stuff + the original Sins.

madlulz, did you see the bit about diplomacy REQUIRING entrenchment, which REQUIRES vanilla sins of a solar empire?

what this means is the diplomacy has all the ships, planets, stars and functions of entrenchment AND vanilla sins,

AND diplomacy DOES have the starbases AND structure attacking frigates from entrenchment with the extra diplomacy cruisers.

hehe. I love these threads.

it makes me know that no matter how much people can think your an idiot... there is always someone out there that is more of an idiot than you are.

It's a common misconception.  Diplomacy is an expansion pack for Entrenchment, which is an expansion pack for the Original game.  You can't play Diplomacy without Entrenchment.

um, my diplomacy as the core + entrenchment elements in it

The Multiplayer lobbies is the problem.

I actually blame the companies involved for this confusion. Each add on/Entrenchment/Diplomacy/ should/could have been a update to Sins(charge obviously) this way the game is not so splintered.

Its like it is now due the fact each addon changed the game engine. As modders asked for more control, and flaws were found in the game engine they changed it. Thats why each is separate.  And why for example some mods dont backport well at all.

Nothing is wrong with Entrenchment and Diplomacy being consecutive addons. Don't whine when there's no problem, just RTFM.

especially because without entrenchment, there would be little reason to have diplomacy.  (its because you can wall yourself off with star bases that there is a reason to wait for diplomacy to work)

I like the fact that the expansions were not just updates to the origenal game b/c i do like playing Diplomacy but my friends still play Vanilla and I have the oppertunity to join them! I havent seen any other game do this before and it is greatly appreciated! Thank you Dev.

People are already getting irritated by the division of StarCraft II, and the ramifications of having two buy HotS and LotV in addition to WoL, so I won't be surprised one bit if that happens.

heh, except that the developers of sins actually price things reasonably, whereas SC2 is just an overpriced monster with a movie-esque single player.  In the end the red alert series has done a good job establishing that same "movie" feel without having nearly the pricetag of SC2.  Sure SC2 is a better game, but it hasn't really evolved that much from its SC1 days.
