TEC w/out shields

Trying to add a new angle to my mod: no shields for TEC. Problem i am having is in balence. Upping armor and HP is easy, but what i really need is shield mid. Anyone know if you can get shield mid. to stay without having shields on a ship?

I know that. Was just wondering if anyone found a cleaner way. That just seems a bit crud.

sadly no, either you have a little bit of shields to have shield midigation or no shield effects at all
