An interesting idea?

I had a thought last night about how limited aggressive expansions are in the game; you have bombarding and culture influence, and not many choices when it comes to relieving an enemy of his worlds.:P

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an invasion element to Sins? It might mean adding a new ship to facilitate that or a new ability to an existing colony ship, but if you could control the invasion yourself, like having buttons to order the invasion force's stance to counter the planetary garrison's stance and through that gain a better presence until eventual conquest etc.

You could also have indicators to show the level of Military presence of each race and a visual effect to show the planet is contested, because being allowed to move separate units around like other RTS's is out of the question. :grin:

I don't have the experience to make such a thing possible but its just an idea and I'm curious to see what everyone thinks of it.|-)

you mean invasion infantry who go down to the planet and fight for it? sounds familiar... I think the Babylon 5 mod has such a element in it... though I don't know as I haven't played that mod or what has been developed as of late

Ah that would be cool. Even if people didn't want to go and make this as a mod, perhaps Ironclad could use it in Sins 2 if they make it? (Hint hint) ;)
