Vasari Scouting

I am trying to learn to scout better. So far, finding it a lot easier with Advent -- when my seeker's die, I get free sight, and the culture-based spying tech is very nice. Second-best for me is TEC with the Probe; not as nice as Advent, but still helpful. I cannot figure out any tricks with Vasari however. Am I just supposed to make lots and lots of scouts? They dont have special scouting abilites, are more expensive and cost 3 supply -- just seems kind of hard to keep them alive in systems outside the front lines long enough to see what's going on. Any tricks or tips? Thank you

The only good "trick" I'm aware of is getting Phasic Cloaking (max level), parking the Jikara at a star, turning off autocast on everything, and activating Phasic Cloaking.

At the max level, Phasic Cloaking consumes 2 AM/sec, but at a star's gravity well, the scout will also regenerate 2.5 AM/sec. So, you effectively have permanent vision of a star's gravity well until you pull the scout.

Just keep scouts moving.  Unless you run into large numbers of strike craft, nothing can catch them.  There's no real trick here, and I'd give up the abilities of the Advent and TEC scout any day for the Vasari scout's ability to capture neutral extractors.

Don' forget the high level phase detection that the Vasari get.  Once that is enabled, no fleet will be able to surprise you.

Almost never worthwhile in a 1v1 scenario, but invaluable in a team scenario where all your allies get the benefit of this.

there is a way to place remote sensors with vas but it is extremly risky. the maruader has the sabotage ability and in addition to slowing production on a planet it also places a sensor on the planet. marauders are hard to catch too, with their speed boosting and anti-pji ability. but of course placing sensors with a cap is always risky as it requires large amounts of anti matter to jump in, use it, use the speed boost, and jump out
