the amount of work to update a vanilla sins 1.00 mod, just forget looking for a copy, & just duplicate what he did with a copy of the diplomacy/entrenchment reference files,  and to do that you would have to disable the frigate factories & frigate research for each race, and the MAJOR fault in the mod is the AI  would just curl up on a ball and do NOTHING, so it would be a multiplayer only mod and be unable to be tested by the modder.

yes, that is what I did when I updated/converted two mods to entrenchment from vanilla, ie real capital ships & phase scouts, but as I do not play online it would be practically impossible for me to test crimsmod.

from what I have read in other threads, the AI does not use many caps as it has queued up a lot of research & frigate building, so another idea to add to your workload would be to make the each fleet supply require the one lower caps level, then at least the caps availability would be there for the ai.
