How do I install a mod?

I just got this game and want to play some mods. I updated the game to 1.191 (Just SoSE) it says put into an Ironclad file, but I do not see this file. I am using Windows 7. the example I will use (It is out of date) is:

Unzip the folder into your 'C:\users\<profilename>\appdata\local\ironclad games\sins of a solar emipre\mods-v1.15(or mods-v1.16)\' folder.

I did find an Ironclads file when I told windows to show all hidden files, but the only thing in there is a file titled "sins of a solar Empire" then "license" then "sig.bin" that is all I know. Any help?? Thanks in advance.

IIRC, try opening the game, Options --> Mods --> Show mod Path. When you do that it creates the directory. I could be wrong, its been a while but worth a try.

You can also make the folder yourself from memory. BTW, are you saying that the "sins of a solar empire" directory is empty? Cause that complicates things.

This is correct

Tried the above fix, but didn't work...manually input the files and still not working...any suggestions?

note: I'm using XP and have the most up to date version of Diplomacy

If you've found the mod folder for the version of the game, it should read every folder in there as a mod. If you aren't seeing anything at all it either means its not in the right place, you have mod files that are not in a folder, or your mod is still in a .zip format or something (and not a folder).

Also the mod path thing should work, just copy it down exactly and put it into the address bar of windows explorer, hit enter and it won't matter if there are hidden folders or not.

Ah, found it! I read that the files were supposed to be under Application Data/Local...but I found it under Local/Application Data...just a minor switch needed...thanks for making me dig deeper!
