GameInfo\GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef

Needs to be added to OrbitBody list and update count.

PlanetType and update count.

Then the lists near the top for map making, update counts.

Do a search in the file for a planet type like ice and see how it is added.

What I did was download Sins Plus and use notepad++ compare feature to compare the 2 GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef files and see all that they added.

If you want to use galaxy forge to make maps with the new planets, copy the GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef into the GF directory replacing the one included after you backed up the original somewhere.

Did you add all the icons to Textures\Icons_planets and all the new brushes to the Windows folder?

Also if you want the planet to appear in random maps, you need to put it in one of the random families of PlanetTypes (Random, RandomTrue) etc., wherever it would be appropriate.

myfist0, are you going to finish your tutorial on adding planets?  I am new to the modding scene but basically waiting on your tutorial to finish my first mod. :)  Any chance (once complete), you could post a simple, 1 planet mod, that we could download?  I am running the most recent Entrenchment version.

Its comin' >_>  and there will be a DL with all the files for 1 planet. That will be 1 of my largest tutorials and will take time, have patience please.

Too many jobs and not enough time  x_x

End of myfist0's quote

I'd be happy to help with it if other people can edit it (unless you'd like it to be a one man deal), especially after the modding wiki apparently got taken down. Otherwise Ken is there anything that is giving you issues that you could ask here?

I would love some help. Sure I can edit.

If you want to help a lot I will give the weebly password to you and the html template used for all pages. For now I take any help I can get. There is more than a few pages that are incomplete.

Well, at this point I have only made 1 mod and all it did was increase the number of metal and crystal asteroids to 12 each on terran planets.  Not exactly brain surgery, but it was something simple I could figure out on my own.

I have the Star Trek: Sacrifice of Angels 2 mod that I really enjoy, but would like to create my own mod that basically adds more resources and planets into the game (I kinda suck so I need the edge).  Anyway, I haven't actually tried to create a planet mod other than what myfist0 has already written.  Once he completes the planet tutorial, I'll let you know if I am successful or if I have any problems. :)

Thanks for the reminder  ;)

Real busy trying to get the UI and soundtrack done for the Dip release of Star Trek SoA2. When that's done I will get on it unless someone else wants to jump on it and I will post it on the weebly.
