Sign Up Error - Invalid Serial Number

Digital Download or Retail Versions

:grin: Recently purchased the Digital Download Version of Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity and I waited until the money was taken out of my account to register it. It gave me 

:ninja: Sign Up Error - Invalid Serial Number

The serial number you have entered is not a valid serial number for Sins of a Solar Empire.

Perhaps you have entered a serial number from a different product. Please check your registrations and verify you have the correct serial number.

I got to the website through the game, how is it wrong game? #:(

<X3 I posted my ticket at least three or four weeks ago and so far have had no response. I read at least 5 Posts that say almost the same thing: "Make a Ticket".

*_* I would like to know if I have to do any updates. After all I do have Trinity. And for some reason Original Sins is missing the latest update for it. No Idea why.

have you emailed [email protected]? as that is the correct address for sales problems, it should be the point of contact

You probably already did this but I've gotta say it just to be sure:  Try the number again and make sure you have typed it exatly as it is shown (i.e. capitols, dashes if you did not try that before, etc.)

If that didn't work, all I can recommend is check your e-mail and see if there is a responce to your ticket there.  If there isn't, send a new one as it's likely they never recieved it.  (Usually you'll get a we're looking into it message back pretty soon after it's sent.)

Could also look and see if the game is under your purchases on impulse.  If so you can install it from there as well.  That would have the most recently updated version of the game.  (It may show up as Sins, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy there though, as Trinity is just a compilation of all 3 games, but I'm not sure as I bought them all seperate.)

If you have never used Impulse, it is the program sins uses for updates.  Your login information is the same as you use to log into these forums.

If all else fails, I believe when I bought the original game the serial number wasn't required for single player, just online play.  If that hasn't changed you should at least be able to familiarize yourself with everything while support gets this sorted out:

Aight it took them a while but the emailed me. They said that Sins is automatically patched with Impulse....I did not know that because Ive never seen impulse actually patch anything at all. And when you digitally buy something with Impulse.. It is automatically registered so I basically have nothing to worry about. Thank you Anyways Guys.

Ive got the same problem, will not accpet my serieal number, and the game isn't upto the latest patch cos i bought it from a shop, ive even emailed the publishers in the uk (focus) and they have emailed me another cd key but even that doesnt seem to work so its def a problem on impulses side.

If two cd keys have failed on you, I recommend attempting to log into Multiplayer(Online) anyway, just in case its saying it's not registered when it really is.  If it allows you to play a multiplayer game, then it is registered already and will at least narrow down your problem for somebody more expierienced than I to help.  Otherwise all I can recomend is to send another email to support(Link is above in my previous post) and wait for them to get back to you.

Also, you may get better results if you open a new thread, as this one is a month old, it is likely that those who would have clicked on it, already have in the past and either answered, or didn't have an answer.  Your issue is slightly different than the OP in that he bought the digital download and you bought an actual disc.

Ok well ive tried to log into the online mode put it says i need to update the game and obviously i cant without it accepting my cd key :(

sanddancer, did you COPY/PASTE the emailed cd key into impulse?

the reason I ask is that impulse IS EXTREEMLY case and - sensitive.

Yeah i did , ive tried with dashes without lower case upper case and even a different email address just doesnt work. it says:

"Product registration failed: the email address or serial number you entered is invalid. Check to make sure you have entred the correct information"

Strange thing is though when i enter the cd key it picks it up that it is for this game in the drop down box for me.

sanddancer, it looks like you will have to email [email protected] on this one.

it would be a good idea to include all info eg a scan of the reciept, copies of all emails, the rego/cd key and ask them to help

I had the same problem with the retail copy (kinda silly that this is a common problem). They had contacted me within a couple days, however. Try another ticket, and yes, be ready to take photos of the discs, case, manual, receipt, etc.

 

Thank God I kept my receipt. I don't normally do so, but somethin' told me "just in case".

Well i finally got it sorted Focus sent me another cd key and thankfully that one worked so i can now update the game :-) still a strange problem though.
