Does anyone still play? I haven't played in a long time.

As far as I have heard there is still a small community going. Can't remember the times. Search for DirtySanchez, he/she might be able to help more.

There is still a community of hardcore players on diplomacy so u can get 5v5 skilled games  + there is influx of new players or so. On prime time there is 50 pple on ICO which sadly is maximum that ICO can handle before MD desync and disc start to occur.

Yeah, people are still around.  I think the best times are between 3 pm - 10 pm U.S. Eastern Time.  It's probably better during the European evening and on the weekends.  There seems to be a couple 4v4s and 5v5s every night on the Diplomacy expansion.

So ICO decreased the amount of players that can be on it to 50? darn, I started playing about 2 years ago, i remember the best night I was was about 175.... it was never large, but I thought i was a great game.  I'm sad that such a great game is going out of favor, but I've moved on to better games...  =(

Perhaps I'll check it out sometime again.

Are there any better RTS games out there?  From what I can tell, because of the influence of consolization, games are just getting worse, not better.

I concur most rts are getting simpler like starcraft 2 and the like.

Also I can't get on very long  because of First Robotics (Team 3403 Lycos) school and my bedtime

A game that has APM demands upwards of 200+ could not possibly be simpler.  I'm not going to say which is better because they are both different, but SC2 is clearly not simpler.

A lot of kids love it = simple

I don't mean too say it is easy but I don't like the small scale. See sins has alot more going on at any give time and has more side(diplomacy,pirates,etc)

i play every night but unfourtunaly i dont play online due to me running bootcamp on my MAC BOOK and it ocasinoaly crashes during the game so i dont wanna ruin the expreince for anyone else. i go on iron clad online just ot play with my roomate and we save oftern just in case my computer crashes. i wish i can get it fixed freakin bootcamp.

How often do you crash? the game crashes if you use windows so boot camp might not be the problem.

I don't know what Bootcamp is, but it sounds like an awful piece of bloatware.

Bloatware is like bungholes, everyone has some.  Mine is Magic Jack, AVG, and Brother printer drivers.

bootcamp is a free utility you get with every mac OSX it allows you to  partion off a part of your hard drive and place a windows operating system on it. it its been crashing less and less so you may see me on ironclad soon:D

I really don't understand the allure of Macs.  What can you do on a Mac that you can't do on a Windows rig for much less money?

You get to have a machine that gets little to no viruses......easy user interface without all the DOS crap.................does not have a million conflicts between programs, extensions etc........ much more reliable over time etc.........  not that hard to understand......  its kinda like drugs tho, you must do them to understand the allure... other wise your just an ostrich with his head in the sand.......

Macs are amazing i am using mine for artwork. i just wish they can make a sins version for the mac that would be awsome but i know they will never do it
