Problem loading mods

Well, hello everyone, i will try to explain my problem as good as possible

 

I played sose since 2009 or so, everything went perfect until I upgraded my computer a couple of weeks ago. I got a xfx hd5770 and I added 2 extra gb of ram (having a total of 4gb). I re-downloaded sins and updated but now i cant load any mods. Before I upgraded my computer I didn't had any problems with mods but now everytime I try to load a mod the game freezes but no minidump fiel apears. Plaese anyone help me, I like vanilla sins but I need to activate a few mods to make it more enjoyable ( real cap ships - sins plus)

If you have Diplomacy and  just updated today a new beta patch just made every mod obsolete. Also the mods you mentioned have been out of development for some time so unless you got them from someone that has updated them they won't work.

In other words, time to find some new mods (though Sins plus has been combined into many other mods now).

Distant Stars for example has sins plus and uses the concept of real cap ships though we tweaked it for better balance. The caps were way too powerful in that mod.

But alas, as GoaFan77 pointed out. It will be slightly out of date due to the new beta patch/

I'm currently playing entrenchment, diplomacy makes my pc go crazy somehow. The weird thing is that before the upgrades i was playing just fine on entrenchment 1.5, now I cant, the game jsut freezes during the loading of the mod, i don't get a minidump nor a error, it just freezes.

Diplomacy has a lot of issues. Currently the devs are working on a patch to fix it.

As for the mods they are very specific. If they are not built around the current version (Entrenchment is 1.051) then they won't work.

More than likely its still the mods. Unless you found a version explicitly for Entrenchment 1.051, they probably won't work. You might have been playing an old version, and when you reinstalled impulse of course gave you the most recent version.

As a test, try getting one of the mods currently in development like DS or Maelstrom, and if it still doesn't work (just make sure its not an installation problem), then you might have a bizarre PC issue.
