help with installing mods

i have downloaded a few mods and i cant figure out how to install them i have never did a mod before so im lost im playin the game on win 7 any help would be appricated

ok i found the foulder and extrated the mods into it but when i go into the game they dont show up on the mod list

Make sure that when you unzip the mod you don't get a folder within a folder effect. This can mess up the mod. It helps to simply unzip the mod on to the desktop then direct transfer over to the mod folder. All mods have the required folders that are needed.

Not all mods are created with a standard rule of compressing an archive. Some people who make the mod do not even understand how the compressor works. As long as all the required files are included creating the proper directory structure should not be difficult.

Here is what the directory structure should look like.

This shows the folder in a folder bad installation. The game will still find "My Mod" but does not have any of the files in the proper directory.

Another bad install and here the game will show mods like "GameInfo", Mesh etc.

and you NEED to un-archive( or extract the files from the download archive(file)), if you place the downloaded file in the mods folder sins/entenhment/diplomacy WILL NOT SEE THE MOD, as they only look for the folders with sub-folders & files.
