Mod Crashes My Game

Hey i bought this game a few months ago so im still pretty new at the whole Sins of A Solar Empire thing. so I downloaded this mod, 7_Deadly_Sins; i guess its gives you new races, I put it in the correct file then I opened up my game and went to options>mods and selected the mod, then when i pushed Enable Mod, my screen froze then a few seconds later it came up with

"Runtime Error; This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information"

Is this my game or the mod itself, if its the mod then ill just get rid of it, without any mods it runs perfectly.

Old, slightly dead mod. Do not use. Hasn't been updated in ages. Though they are working on a new one.

the mod, the 7 deadly sins public release (that you probably downloaded) was for sins 1.05, the current sins version is 1.191, and there are so many areas of change from the pre 1.10 to the post 1.10 versions that you should give up on the 7 deadly sins until the NEXT release happens which might be in a couple of weeks(it has taken over a year between releases), btw most mods are for the expansions  ie entrenchment & diplomacy, so if you do not have the expansions you might want to get them

ok, thanks dude. i figured that was the problem but it was best to ask someone who knows better than me.
