Hi all, im somewhat new to the game and am looking for friends to play online with, please let me know if you want to play and what time you are free usually and ill see if i can be on

hey kirriko,

judging by the time you posted this (3:05:24 AM EST), you are a few hours too late to catch the bigger waves of sins players.  The best times to find a game on sins is anywhere from 15:00 EST - 24:00 EST (note, EST is GMT - 5).  During this time frame it is relatively easy to find people to play with and there are a number of 5v5s that are hosted.

I was surprised to see a group of 9 players online with v 1.191 last night. They were probably hosting in other countries.  Last Sat afternoon I saw a whopping 11 players on three matches in v 1.191, so where are all the new players who start with small scenarios? Can they not host on the ICO servers?  My attempt at hosting compatibility showed that my IP was invisible or something, but I was able to start my own small scenario.  I waited an hour for other players, but no one joined so I logged out.  What exactly happens when a small scenario hosted match is set up and why aren't there more open matches when I try to join a multiplayer?  Sincerely, P4QmA1

The problem is that nearly everyone who wants to play multiplayer Sins plays on the Diplomacy expansion, which is on a separate server from the vanilla Sins (1.191) server. On Diplomacy, there are often 40-50 people online, and you can get a game going relatively quickly if you're only looking for a few players.

If you want to reliably play against other humans, you're going to have to have Diplomacy.

I don't think that's necessary, I at least have never had to do anything special to log into ICO and play. If you have a restrictive firewall though you might need to tell it to allow Sins through.
