i believe that using both research stations for any fleet size is too lame.

it should be restricted to

econimic research should be restricted to frigates, the new frigates and cruisers.

military research should be restricted to the caps, and the new titan ships.

the reason for this is that, at least for the humans, they didnt have any warships when the war started.  they would have needed to reseaarch those seperate from the frigates they already had, including the few that they had to fight the pirates with.  also it is just too easy to max out your fleet.
