Changing Weapon types and damages

Is there a way to change the weapon types of fighters and capital ships? I want to replace the phase missiles of vasari squads with the blue lasers of the advent squads. And then changing their damage.

Same thing with capital ships

you can then open in it up and fiddle with the damages to your hearts content.  It will have advent particle effects, and will use the pulse gun upgrades, instead of phase missles. 

Using this, you should be albe to figure out how to mod preeety much anything.... just, search on the forums for harpo9999 mod tools... or reference files.  and party.

nah just for entrenchement. It's the only expension that have all the mods i like :p

ah, now if you want to stack mods... it should be stackable... or you could just edit the file as you'd like, and copy it over the same file in whatever mod your using.

 

(entrenchment... teehee noob  :P ).

As long as it have more defences and most importantly starbases, that's good for me :D

yeah that's what i' doing :) i tried to change the fighters weapons but when i test them ingame. They are unarmed like if they don't have weapons anymore. They juste go next to the enemy and fly next to them and that's all. I edited the .entity files of the fighter itself:

I replaced what's in red with the advent weapons and that's it. So i don't know what's the problem. Is there another file i should edit?

hmm... that should have done it... but... vasari dont have psilaser weapons... so that might be your problem.

I copied the same lines as the fighter but this time with the bomber and it works well. Thanks :)

and to change the damage, i have to edit those lines right?

Thx :) Also i have one last question. It doesn't have to do with the topic though but i don't want to start a whole thread for one simple question. What is the name of the texture files for the ingame hud interface? you know the metallic hud and not the buttons
