ICO is lagging again even after v1.21 patch

It's Saturday, and I'm sorry to report that ICO is lagging again, even after the v1.21 patch.  I've played a couple games and seen what appeared to be ICO-based lag.

It was great for the first two days after the patch.  Now it's just awful.  I wonder if it has something to do with the server needing to be reset or refreshed every so many hours?  Perhaps it should get a reboot during a dead time like 6 am U.S. EST.

The in-game lag and lobby chat lag is WORSE than it was before the patch now.

I tried to play with a friend yesterday and today. It is lagging really bad in the chat and game. Impossible to play.

i just played a 5v5 with 40+ people online, and everything seemed fine.

Yeah, this post is old now, and I haven't experienced any lag lately either (since the database fix).

What version of the game were you playing?  I haven't played for a couple days, but the most recent reports I've read say that it doesn't lag much on the Diplomacy expansion now.  However, Vanilla Sins and Entrenchment have not (and may not?) receive a similar patch to fix the lag.
