I have them too...Maelstrom mod 10 AIs deep into game minidumps... 4 GBs enabled. EMAIL SENT TO SINS SUPPORT PLEASE HELP.  My system is tested and no other games crash.  I just played 140 hours of GTA IV without a crash.  I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING.

I have a 2500k, 8 GB 1600 mhz RAM, GTX 460, p67 motherboard, brand-new thermaltake XT 775w power supply, latest drivers. memtest86 passed, AAAARRGGGGH!

An unmodified up to date version of diplomacy will still mini dump on occasion.

Are you on crack?  The Maelstrom mod COMES WITH THE 4GB fix.  It's impossible to play huge maps without the fix. I didn't mean ten AI's.  I meant me + 9 AIs.  The huge maps are not custom- the come with the game.

As I understood, Sins support extends to the Maelstrom mod.

I just played the same map for 7 hours yesterday without the mod and NO crashes or minidumps.

lol...the 4 GB enabler is the best thing to happen to this game and Supreme Commander...CANNOT play large maps without it.

And don't you think I checked the RAM usage for minidumps?  If I turn the settings all the way down to low and use only about 1 GB, the game still minidumps with the mod.  My guess is, although I hope not...the game can't handle all the AI's with the mod, regardless of settings or RAM.  I will have to test it with smaller maps when I get a chance.

The game just isn't as epic without a huge map.

And yes, I play with the settings all the way up because I can.  I made a rig to do just that. I am running now without the mod at about 2.2 GB and it's running fine.  So don't tell me about the 4 GB enabler...it works beautifully.

Correction, the Maelstrom mod doesn't come with any kind of fix of that nature.  Maelstrom comes with a 4GB flagged modded executable which doesn't really fix anything at all, and is a violation of the EULA for the game as it states under the YOU MAY NOT: section.
4. Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or modify the SOFTWARE or any portion of it, or make any attempt to bypass, unlock, or disable any protective or initialization system on the SOFTWARE.

Therefor, official support does NOT extend to the Maelstrom mod nor any persons using it, just as support does NOT extend to anyone using a hacked executable for any game.

Remember one thing.  Just because a mod includes something, does not make it official.  If it was official, then the game itself would include it, which it does not, and the mod would no longer need to include it.  If LAA was the fix all answer, game companies would be using it for every single game ever made and going back to their older titles and releasing new versions rather then worrying about making all new engines for the ever growing 64bit crowd.  The fact that they don't should be more then enough proof as to it's ineffectiveness.  Complaining about things you've (or a modder) screwed with only proves to them that you're an idiot and makes them not deal with your problem.  Use some brain power here.  It's not a difficult concept to understand.  Imagine receiving this email: "Hey I screwed with all of the files of my game and now it doesn't work.  Fix it."  That's what you (Proverbial you, not you specifically) sound like to them if you complain about using a hacked executable that comes with a mod.  Your problem is answered with a quick stroke of the delete button.

 EDIT: Now this does not mean that LAA doesn't work for other games, I too play Supreme Commander with the LAA flag on and it works great, however with Sins, the way it was designed and built, it's practically useless.

If you have an unmodded game that still has a lot of minidumps, (there is always the likelihood of the random dump because we all have different systems and they can't anticipate everything nor control what you have running while playing) uninstall the game, run disk cleanup, reboot your system, reinstall the game fresh.  9 out of 10 times, the problems are gone.  Should they persist, email support your minidumps and they will address them when they have time, and they will address them as long as you're not a blabbering moron full of demands like so many people are when they're upset.  Even so, support does not extend to mods period, that's why modders have to support their own work.

For the record, I play DS, Maelstrom, 7DS, and a plethora of other mods, many stacked up so I'm running 5 and 6 at a time and I don't have crashing issues even after 20 hour long games.  Slowdowns absolutely, crashes no.  Two tips that are invaluable.  Do not run your graphics on highest.  Lower is always better.  No matter how capable of a system you have, it just will not work out in a long game.  Also do not turn up the speed.  A few particle designers have made note that the game will simply just dump out because of the particle limit threshold being crossed while running a game with accelerated rates.  That includes sped up games from the pregame settings as well as the manual boosting of it's speed during game play.  Slower is always better.  Unfortunately most players do not like these setting.

No you didn't, and you are still running a mod. Issue remains. It could be a small bit of code that the modder goofed on that is causing it. Again, Sins Support won't cover it. Its a start concept for any and all things that go above and beyond the OEM. (And I mean everything.)

No one said you did, all I said was if you (again, proverbial you, not you specifically) email tech support saying I modified the files and tampered with the executable and am now crashing, fix this, they're going to answer you with a delete button because they've stated in the EULA that you cannot do that.  COMPRENDE?  You anal ass.  Giggity.  You will not get help for your issue from official sources.  You don't have to like the EULA, or even care about it, but it's there, and regardless of your feelings about it, if you want them to help you, you must abide by it.  COMPRENDE?  This is not a difficult concept, but you seem to be having difficulty dealing with it.

Getting all pissy about an explanation of why you're not going to get any help isn't going to get you any different answers either.

To get official support for something, it must be something provided by the developer of the game.  The hacked executable is not official otherwise it would be included with the core game, which it is not...  It's a very simple concept to understand.  Please, for your own sake, try to understand that concept.  It'll really help you out with this issue.

And yet you claimed it as THE FIX with no other explanation as to what it fixes or why it's necessary.  So...  If you agree with me that it doesn't fix anything, and you clearly claimed it as THE FIX in your previous posting...  Which is it?  Is it THE FIX, or do you know what it really does which would mean you understand that it does nothing to fix the game and it's limitations?  Pick one and stick with it please.

And if you weren't being a spoiled child of a tool and read my answer without turning into a bitchy ass, you would have read a calm explanation of why it is not supported, just like all of the other mods out there.  It was typed out in perfectly clear English on why you wouldn't get any support.  That was the answer given to you, if you don't like it, don't piss and moan about the people telling you this, just accept is as long standing knowledge of what we are already aware of, getting passed on down to you...  So basically, all I'm seeing is you're posting to get answers and when those answers aren't the ones you want to hear, you bitch more...  I have to believe you're not really here for answers otherwise you would have listened to them. 

Here's some more information for you.  One group of developers is working on the Diplomacy 1.3 patch, the other group is working on the Rebellion expansion.  They don't have the time to deal with your problem as it does not concern them.

I did read your post, I read all three of them.  I've read all five of them now...  Did you bother to read mine and did you take the time to understand what was said to you?  As I said, you're playing with modified game files on a hacked executable.  It doesn't matter what settings you're using, highest or lowest, if the core unmodded game plays fine without crashing, then you're just shit out of luck where official support is concerned and you must get help from modders like us, whom you're doing a damned fine job of pissing off.

So now you can play it all night long with everything on highest without a crash.  I thought you were posting here claiming that you were having issues that caused the game to crash, even on the lowest settings.  Which is it?  You can play all night on highest settings just fine, or you crash a lot on the lowest settings requiring you to need help desperately?  Again, pick one story and stick with it please.

Setting LAA on an executable which was not designed for it can cause DirectX errors, among other issues.

If you're experiencing issues which cannot be reproduced with no modifications whatsoever, please direct your questions to the authors of whatever mod you're using. There are a great many possible ways which mods can cause issues in the game, and they will be most familiar with what they've done which may cause them.

So? They can chose to do so, they just don't have to.
